Another day, another couple of sketches

I'm really getting into drawing again recently. I've thrown a couple of roughs into my scrapbook on DeviantArt.

First up is an MS Paint pic of the Kusuriuri (Medicine Seller) from Mononoke. I was originally going to finish this, but I rather like it as is even if there's some errors in it.

I think I'm actually happiest with the medicinal clutter on the chest in the background. The scale was drawn in 2 seconds and I really like it for some reason. Also, my profiles have definitely made an improvement.

So I mentioned previously that I have an account for browsing on pixiv, and I've been looking at the different drawing challenge memes that are there. I've decided to do some of the ones I found interesting and post the results on DeviantArt.

This one is a 'Draw the Akatsuki members' challenge, and includes three free spaces on the left side to draw whatever you want. I'm going to do a proper version later that will probably look rather different, but I decided to try sketching with the brush in PaintTool SAI again, and cranked these out in a couple of minutes.

The free spaces are Rock Lee (I made a new version for a userpic because it made me laugh so much while drawing it) Sakura, and Orochimaru. Of the others, I'm happiest with the Hidan one. Kisame came out kind of wierd.

The Sasori drawing I'm working on is coming along slowly; I'm having to redraw a section of it because of some wonky anatomy, so it will be awhile before it's finished. I also have a couple of original pics that I'm working on as well, and I'm considering participating in the classy KakaSaku fanart contest from the NarutoFan FC if I can decide on a painting I'd like to interpret.

Oh yeah, as for my writing, I forgot to mention that my first SasoSaku oneshot is being beta'd. I'm nervous, but excited to see some feedback on my writing coming my way in the near future; I'll be happy even if I get plenty of criticism, because it'll put me a step closer to improving my writing skills. :)
