New art projects
Well, I've finished up on my KakaSaku contest pic and submitted it (I'll have a separate post for it later) so now I have time to work on a few pic ideas that I've had on the back burner for the past few weeks; I've also started planning a new multi-pic series.
I've had a few original pic ideas that have been percolating for awhile (since I was working on the Sasori pic I recently finished) and I now have the time to work on them.
First up is another Art Nouveau-styled piece of an angelic-type character.

This was inspired by two different things: medieval illustrations of multi-winged seraphim and a Neuro fanart that I found on pixiv awhile back, that had Neuro embracing Yako with wing-arms. I really liked the forward sweep of the wings in both of these, and it made me think of something almost cloak-like; it also reminds me a bit of the Gargoyles characters that would fold their wings around their shoulders like a cloak. I haven't decided on how stylized I want the wings to be yet, but I'm sort of leaning towards making them more realistic. Also I'm probably going to change the border to be something more celestial rather than botanical.
I have a couple other original pic ideas with a sort-of rainy day theme (umbrellas, galoshes, raincoats) that actually came up seperately; one of them was an idea suggested by my husband that I loved. No digital sketches yet though.
As for fanart, I have a multi-pic series I'm planning based around Alice in Wonderland featuring Sakura and the Akatsuki characters. It will be a bit naughty, in a Miyuki-chan in Wonderland vein in that almost all the characters are interested in getting into Sakura's lacy little bloomers (I've pretty much decided which ones succeeded even.) :D
Currently I have ideas for about 5 or so pics for the series; I won't be doing a pic for all the members, but I want to make sure they all appear at some point in one of the pictures. I might even do a tiny drabble to go with each pic as well as a sort-of caption. I'll probably reread the book again to get the creative juices flowing, but I've already started planning clothing designs and such.
