goldengrimoire: (Sasori & Kankuro)

First off, even though I have been sucked into RPing, I am still fitting in writing fic. The first chapter for the next Sasori/Sakura story I'll be putting out for [livejournal.com profile] 30_lemons  will be ready very soon; it was originally going to be a oneshot, but it's expanded quite a bit and will be multichapter. This one is in a different universe from Regression, and will feature depravity and delicious mindfuckery; I'm quite excited about it!

Now, onto the manga.

Weell...it's kind of obvious that I need to say something about this chapter, isn't it?

First, I'll just mention a couple of other things about the chapter:

- Kage meeting was cool stuff. I love you, Gaara.

- LOL Sai for the Naruto confession thing and the "you're bad for him" bit

- STOP CRYING SAKURA, FOR GOD'S SAKE!

- So, I don't really care about what the final ships are because I'll be doing my own thing regardless, but COULD YOU MAYBE ADDRESS THAT WHOLE HINATA THING AT SOME POINT, KISHIMOTO? Come on, dude. D:

OK, and now onto the main point, which is illustrated perfectly by this (thread here.)

Now, if you're on my flist it's obvious that you know that Sasori is my favorite character, so I'm kind of conflicted about this.

On the one hand, my reaction is "My god, Kankuro, LOL." He really is the biggest Sasori fanboy ever, and it's rather awesome. It's also extremely creepy and kind of wrong of him. And it's funny that even now, Kankuro is still dependent on Sasori's hard work.

Plus, it makes me kind of ship them harder now in a very twisted and wrong fashion; I can't help but picture this bit I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] kannagara_rpg  with Kankuro swapped in.

If it is actually Sasori, it underscores the suspicion I've had for awhile that Sasori didn't leave Suna because they disapproved of his human puppetry. He did apparently have Hiruko while he was there, since Chiyo knew about it, and knew about his human puppetry; this suggests to me that Suna is down with the whole "turning people into puppets" thing in general, and it must be something else that motivated him to leave. So wow, Suna is pretty hardcore!

My other reaction is "OMG SASORI! ♥" but then that kind of devolves into "but it isn't really him, waah!" Kakashi fans, how would you react if instead of Kakashi getting resurrected, he "came back" as one of Pain's bodies instead? Yay for seeing your favorite character come back...but do you really want them to come back like this, and not as themselves?

But then I feel like a whiny fangirl if I admit to being unhappy about it at all, bleh. And I already decided that I wasn't going to put emotional investment into the manga a long time ago, so I really shouldn't be upset about it, but... T_T

Since I am RPing Sasori, I was thinking about how he would feel about it, and I'm not completely sure. He might be flattered by it, since it does seem fitting, somehow; I see him as considering turning someone into a puppet to be the highest form of respect he can show them, because they're someone that is so great that they deserve to be preserved for the ages. And it would mean that his greatness would live on beyond his death, which is something he'd probably be pleased about.

It's also funny that this comes out right when we had this post and thread happen in the RP as well. (Side note: I am actually kind of starting to see the Sasori/Deidara ship now thanks to this RP, although I don't know if the ship will ever happen in the game.)

Yes, Kankuro/Sakura is rather cute for this reason. :)

I can't help but see Kankuro as a huge fanboy type in general.

Oh, he totally is.

Especially when you realize how much time he must spend alone in this workshop tinkering with his dolls.

He's a classic geek.
